1. Save your own copy
Scroll to the Codex below.
Click the Save & Export HTML button.
A file will download to your device (usually into your Downloads folder).
Move or rename it if you like — this is now your personal Codex file.
2. Open your Codex to start building
Double‑click your saved HTML file to open it in your browser.
You’re now working in your own private version, stored on your device.
3. Add or edit characters
Use the example characters as templates.
Click into any field to change the text.
To add a new character with Quick Add, use simple field, value lines, for example:
Name, Character Name
Section, main-characters
4. Save updates as you go
Whenever you’ve made changes you want to keep, click Save & Export HTML again.
A new updated file will download with all your latest characters and edits.
You can overwrite your old file or keep multiple versions as backups.
5. Keep your worlds safe
Your Codex never lives on my server — it stays on your device.
For extra safety, you can copy your Codex file to a flash drive or cloud folder.
Once you’ve claimed your Codex, bookmark it or pin it to your taskbar so your world is always one click away.
